Textbook Studio is a multi-disciplinary creative design studio based in Manchester/Salford, established in March 2011.
We design for print and sometimes web, for a range of clients big and small. Our work strives to combine traditional, hand-crafted techniques with modern software and technology. To get a feel for the work we do, have a look at our full portfolio.
We are a small, tight-knit studio and we like to work closely with our friends and clients — nearly all of our work comes from referrals, which we like to think means we are good at what we do and that our clients enjoy working with us. We have a large network of creative colleagues – this allows us to keep our studio small and call upon any one of a talented bunch of people whenever a project requires it.
Whilst design is the primary focus of our studio, we also dedicate quite a bit of our time to teaching in local educational institutions. We have given workshops, lectures, pecha kuchas and conducted various other shenanigans at universities and colleges across the UK. There are two reasons for this; we enjoy it, and we are passionate about helping others on their way up. Our hope is that by sharing our skills and experiences in some way, however small, we will help to bridge the gap between education and industry.
When we aren’t designing or teaching, you can find us working on various studio projects, which are mostly self initiated and often collaborative. These projects have no external client, allowing us to play, be silly, test ideas, experiment and learn, which is key to our creative practice and studio culture.
If you have an idea you want to discuss or a creative problem that needs solving, you can get in touch with us by Email. You can find out we are up to at the moment on Twitter or have a look at things we have done and places we have been on Vimeo and Flickr. We are always happy to talk over a coffee or beer – if you want to meet up then you know what to do.
