The Help Japan Art Sale was created by Manchester Papergirl in a response to the catastrophic events in Japan during April of 2011. Illustrators, designers & photographers from around the world donated prints, t-shirts, tote bags and knitted beards to be sold, which was then donated to the Red Cross tsunami appeal.
We designed the poster for the event, which could be folded into a traditional Japanese Crane. 50 of these were hand screen printed and sold for £1 each on the evening. We also helped people fold them into cranes — allowing people to build something that helps rebuild Japan.
